A Providence teen has been arrested in connection to a drive-by shooting earlier this month that police say occurred after a lover’s quarrel.
Madisonville Police report 18 year old Benjamin Little was arrested around 2:35 p.m. Tuesday for his suspected involvement in the drive-by shooting that occurred in the Jamestown Loop area of Jamestown Apartments on September 1, 2016.
According to police, two vehicles and an occupied residence were damaged during the drive-by shooting where officers found at least three 12 gauge shotgun shells that had been fired toward three apartments. Police say witness statements indicated that a silver Dodge Charger was seen leaving the scene at a high rate of speed after the shots were fired. Upon further investigation, authorities say video supported the witness statements of the vehicle fleeing from the scene.
During the investigation, police say enough probable cause was produced to get a search warrant for the vehicle where they found a Remington Versa Max 12 gauge shotgun behind the driver’s seat.
Little was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center for first degree wanton endangerment and first degree criminal mischief.
