An autopsy has been completed on a female jogger hit and killed in Vanderburgh County Tuesday morning.

Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office Chief Deputy Steven Locklear tells WMSK News that 51 year old Janet S. Gries of Darmstadt died of internal injuries resulting from blunt force to the chest. He says the manner of death is pending toxicology results of the driver.

Gries was hit by a pickup truck driven by 22 year old Coleman Matthew Sheridan of Evansville around 5:00 a.m. Tuesday morning as she was jogging on W. Boonville New Harmony Road, according to the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities say Gries died at the scene.

The sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate the accident.
