Marion, KY (Crittenden County) – The Kentucky State Police is currently investigating the death of a 59-year-old Crittenden County Detention Center inmate.
KSP Post 2 says they were contacted by the Crittenden County Detention Center around 11:00 Wednesday morning in reference to a male inmate, 59 year old Katkeo Sayavongsa, of Milwaukee, WI, that had been discovered unresponsive in his cell. State Police indicate Detention Center and EMS personnel attempted to revive him, but were unsuccessful. Sayavongsa was pronounced dead at the scene by Crittenden County Deputy Coroner, Keith Gilbert.
An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville.
State Police indicate foul play is not suspected. KSP is continuing the investigation.
