Henderson Area Rapid Transit, or HART, will celebrate its annual “Try Transit Day” on Friday.

According to City of Henderson Spokeswoman Donna Stinnett, the “Try Transit Day” event is intended to encourage Henderson residents to use public transportation and it is an extension of efforts by the American Public Transportation Association to build awareness of public transportation opportunities.

HART will be offering free bus rides all day Friday as well as hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and RC Cola from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the HART transfer station located at the corner of Third and Main streets.

In case of inclement weather, the “open house” will be relocated to the HART office at 401 N. Elm Street.
