A Henderson woman was arrested this morning for DUI and drug possession after police say 911 received a call that she was passed out behind the wheel of her vehicle at the intersection of MLK and S. Green Street.

Henderson Police say officers responded to the call around 2:00 a.m. Friday and found 42 year old Linda J. Roberts standing next to her vehicle. The eyewitness reportedly had taken Roberts’ car keys so she couldn’t drive away and was waiting with her when police arrived.

According to police, Roberts failed three field sobriety tests and had a difficult time standing due to her intoxication level. Officers say she admitted she had been drinking alcohol and taking pills. Police say they found numerous prescription medications in an unmarked pill bottle.

Roberts was arrested and lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center for her second DUI offense, two counts of first degree possession of a controlled substance – drug unspecified, and second degree possession of a controlled substance – drug unspecified.
