VCSO: Evansville Man Arrested after Threatening his Wife with a Shotgun

A 38 year old Evansville man is in custody after he allegedly threatened to shoot his wife and himself.

Around 7:36 p.m. Sunday, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 75-hundred block of Oakhill Road in reference to a suicidal person with a gun where deputies reportedly found Rommel David Seaboy intoxicated and threatening to kill his wife and himself. Police say Seaboy had reportedly discharged a shotgun twice while standing on the back deck of his home.

According to authorities, deputies met Seaboy’s wife, Christina Seaboy, in the front yard and moved her across the street and out of the area. Deputies indicate her 38 year old husband exited the garage and followed their verbal instructions and was taken into custody without incident.

During interviews with the couple, police say both of the subjects stated that Mr. Seaboy had threatened suicide while pointing a shotgun at himself, and had also discharged the shotgun into the woods, all in the presence of his wife. In addition, authorities say he also pointed the shotgun at his wife and threatened her.

Seaboy was lodged in the Vanderburgh County Jail for intimidation with a deadly weapon and criminal confinement while armed.
