Traffic Stop in Henderson Co. Led to Arrest of Ohio Man for Auto Theft

A traffic stop in Henderson County over the weekend led to the arrest of an Ohio man for auto theft.

According to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted the traffic stop around 5:30 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 69 of a 2003 Ford F-150 after a deputy’s cruiser equipped with a license plate reader alerted the deputy the vehicle was reported stolen out of Greenup, Kentucky. Authorities say the deputies pulled over the driver of the vehicle, 45 year old Randy J. Chaney, of Ohio, and he was taken into custody without incident.

The sheriff’s office indicates Chaney is facing multiple charges including Theft of Auto $10,000 or more but under 1-million dollars. They say Chaney also had warrants out of Kentucky and Ohio in reference to more stolen vehicles.
