The annual Union County Grain Day will be held next week.
Union County Extension Office Ag and Natural Resources Agent Rankin Powell tells WMSK News the event will be held Tuesday morning, January 12, 2016, beginning at 9:00. However, prior to the Grain Day event there will be a one-hour training session for farmers who are interested.
Following the training, Powell says the Grain Day event will kick-off at 9:00 with a short annual meeting of the Union County Corn Growers Association, followed by a speaker to discuss a new cash crop.

During the Grain Day event, Powell says they will recognize the Union County, Kentucky and National Yield Contest participants with plaques just prior to lunch for everyone, which is sponsored by local financial institutions and agricultural businesses.
Rankin Powell says Union County Grain Day is open to the public and he hopes to see everyone there.
