A Union County man arrested for indecent exposure after he was seen standing naked in downtown Henderson and later charged with attempted rape has been indicted by the Henderson County Grand Jury. 29 year old Alan McBride, of Waverly, was indicted Tuesday on a charge of attempted rape and a charge of first degree criminal mischief, according to the Henderson Gleaner.
As reported by WMSK News, McBride was arrested on June 27, 2016 after Henderson Police were dispatched to a call of a naked male standing at the intersection of 5th and North Green Streets. When officers arrived, he reportedly pulled up his boxers and took off running. He was apprehended by police after a foot pursuit in the alley between 3rd and 4th Streets.
The next day, Henderson Police reported McBride had been charged with first degree attempted rape and first degree criminal mischief after a female reported he tried to rape her inside her home. Police say the female victim stated McBride threw her to the floor and ripped off her clothing. She reportedly told police she was able to fight off McBride, who damaged numerous items inside the female’s home before fleeing the residence.
According to police, McBride was seen naked at the Henderson intersection following the alleged rape.
