Two arrested during traffic stop; 140 grams of crystal meth seized

A recent traffic stop in Muhlenberg County landed a Morganfield woman and a Providence man behind bars on drug charges after authorities say they seized about 140 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine.

Muhlenberg County Sheriff Curtis McGehee tells WMSK News Cierra N. Jones of Morganfield and Chase D. Copeland of Providence were taken into custody around 2:25 a.m. Friday when a deputy made the traffic stop on the Western Kentucky Parkway near Central City. During the stop, the deputy reportedly found the suspected crystal meth behind a panel in the vehicle.

Jones and Copeland are lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center for first degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
