Traffic stop in Henderson leads to arrest of Louisville man for possessing drugs

Authorities in Henderson arrested a Louisville man over the holiday weekend for possessing marijuana and cocaine.

Henderson Police indicate an officer stopped a vehicle driven by 29 year old Jamal Debow around 2:40 Sunday morning at the intersection of 2nd and North Green Streets due to cancelled registration plates for failure to maintain insurance. Police say the address on Debow’s driver’s license was a residence he had moved out of approximately two years ago.

During a search of the vehicle, police reportedly found a baggie containing a green leafy substance under the driver’s seat.

Debow was taken into custody and lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center. When Debow was searched at the jail, police indicate officers found a baggie containing two baggies of a white powdery substance that field tested positive for cocaine. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance – cocaine, possession of marijuana, operating on a suspended/revoked operator’s license, two bench warrants and vehicle registration and insurance related offenses.
