Three juveniles arrested, gun recovered during “Shots Fired” investigation

Evansville Police arrested three juveniles while investigating a shots fired complaint early Monday morning.

Police say the incident began at 4:10 a.m. Monday when officers were sent to the 900 block of W Oregon for a complaint of several juveniles in the street shooting a gun. The juveniles reportedly were seen running into 924 W Oregon where officers located the three juvenile males.

According to the release, one of the suspects, 16 years old, lied about his name., but officers were able to learn his true name and found he was wanted on a narcotics warrant in Posey County.

A second suspect, 16 years old, also lied about his name and also found to be in possession of a look alike narcotic.

The third suspect, 17 years old, did not have permission to be in the home and was arrested for trespass.

A handgun was found in a freezer in the home. while officers found a shell casing in the street. The casing and the handgun were seized by police and will be processed.

Additional charges could be filed based on the results of the results of the crime scene lab examination results.
