Local authorities arrested a Union County woman at her residence last night for trafficking and possession of drugs.
According to Union County Sheriff’s Deputy Lee Chandler, the sheriff’s office assisted by Kentucky State Police and the Sturgis Police Department conducted a search warrant around 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Ashmore Apartment Complex in Sturgis at the residence of 52 year old Gloria Word. During the search, he tells WMSK News they found items indicative of the sale and distribution of Heroin.
Word was taken into custody and lodged in the Union County Detention Center for first degree possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, first degree trafficking in a controlled substance (Heroin), prescription controlled substance not in proper container, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
