Spottsville man arrested for 2 assault charges

A Spottsville man accused of assaulting two individuals with a gun last week was arrested on a warrant this morning.

According to a report released today by the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 11-thousand block of Highway 60 East around 3:40 Friday morning where they learned that 45 year old Scott Atkinson of Spottsville had struck two victims with one of two firearms, and then fled from the residence. Authorities indicate one of the victims had swelling and bruising on her face as well as a possible broken jaw from the altercation.

A warrant was issued for Atkinson and he was arrested around 8:10 Tuesday morning when the sheriff’s office was notified that he was checking in at the Probation and Parole Office in Henderson.

Atkinson was lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center and faces charges of Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree and Menacing stemming from the incident on Friday, October 30th.
