Scenes from ‘A Christmas Carol’ being performed at Waveland

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Scenes from Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” will be performed in rooms of the antebellum mansion at Waveland State Historic Site, and Santa Claus will recite “The Night Before Christmas” during two weekends next month.

Cookies and hot cocoa will be served in the log cabin gift shop, and Kentucky artists will sell their work in the newly renovated barn.

The event will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 4, 5, 11 and 12. Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors, $4 for students and free for children 6 and younger.

Waveland in Fayette County was completed in the mid-1800s by Joseph Bryan, a grandnephew of Daniel Boone, on land originally owned by Boone. In 1957, Waveland became a Kentucky Life Museum, depicting Kentucky life from pioneer days through the Civil War.
