Rolling Road Blocks for Overhead Sign Truss Installations TODAY & THURSDAY

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans another round of rolling road blocks and brief traffic stoppages along the Pennyrile Parkway and the US 41 North Strip in Henderson TODAY & THURSDAY, Nov 4 & 5.

The rolling road blocks with brief traffic stoppages are to allow the installation of sign truss structures in the Henderson area at the following times and locations:

TODAY, Nov 4
12 Noon at Pennyrile Parkway mile point 77.76 between the KY 351/Zion Road Interchange and the Audubon Parkway Interchange.

Thursday Night, Nov 5
Between 9:00 p.m. and Midnight at US 41 mile point 16.19 and mile point 16.35 along the US 41 North Strip at Henderson. This is just to the north of the US 41/US 60 Cloverleaf interchange near the Long John Silver’s Restaurant.

All times are approximate. Each of these rolling road blocks with a short traffic stoppage is designed to create a break in traffic to allow the contractor to set overhead sign truss structures above the roadway.

Kentucky State Police will assist by slowing traffic several miles from the work area to create a gap in traffic. The contractor expects traffic stoppages at these locations of less than 10 minutes duration. However, in most instances the halt in traffic has been shorter.

Motorists should be alert for slowing and stopped traffic at these locations and times. Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

This overhead sign truss installation to prepare for new signage to allow the Pennyrile Pkwy to become part of Interstate 69.
