A retirement reception was held Monday afternoon for a detective of the Henderson Police Department.
The reception was held to celebrate the retirement of Detective Preston Herndon.
Authorities say Herndon began his HPD career on October 2nd, 1995. During that time, he has served as a patrol officer and detective. In addition, he has trained many of the officers in the department.
