Princeton man arrested on possession of a synthetic drug charge

NEWS RELEASE

On November 18, 2015, at 12:17 p.m. Gibson County Sheriff’s Deputy U.B. Smith observed a Black Volkswagen passenger car parked near the intersection of Broadway and First Street in Princeton, Indiana. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Smith advised that there were two people in the vehicle the female driver, and a male passenger. While speaking with the driver and passenger 44 year old Haywood E. Hester of Princeton Deputy Smith smelled the odor of synthetic marijuana and observed drug paraphernalia laying in plain view. Deputy Smith mirandized both individuals and after a brief investigation took Mr. Hester into custody.

Haywood Hester was transported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Possession of Paraphernalia and Possession of a Synthetic Drug. Mr. Haywood remains in custody on a $750 bond.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
