Police looking for escaped Hopkins County inmate

Authorities are looking for an escaped Hopkins County Detention Center inmate.

Kentucky State Police Post 2 Madisonville said they were contacted at just after 6 p.m. Thursday regarding an escaped inmate.

Charles A. Woodward, 41, of Madisonville escaped custody from a work release program, according to police. He was assigned work release at Madisonville Tire and Retreading. He was last seen at approximately 3 p.m. Thursday.

Woodward is described as a 6’1” man, weighing 145 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes, and multiple tattoos on both arms.

He was last seen wearing a gray Madisonville Tire uniform with gray pants, and a white undershirt.

Woodward was serving a sentence for two counts of burglary and three counts of theft by unlawful taking.

Anyone with information about Woodward’s location is urged to call their local law enforcement office or KSP Post 2 at 270-676-3313.
