Owensboro woman arrested in Henderson Co. charged for assaulting police officer, DUI

An Owensboro woman authorities say was found unresponsive in her vehicle in Spottsville over the weekend is facing multiple charges, including assaulting a police officer.

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office reports deputies responded to the call around 11:05 p.m. Sunday on River Road and found 32 year old Emily Wilkerson unresponsive inside a vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway. According to authorities, the caller stated they had tried to wake Wilkerson up, but was unable to do so. When deputies arrived on the scene they were able to wake Wilkerson and indicated she became belligerent and they removed the keys from the vehicle. Deputies said the woman continued to be combative and assaulted one of the deputies.

According to the sheriff’s office, Wilkerson was taken into custody and cleared by EMS. She was lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center for third degree assault of a police officer, her second DUI – aggravated circumstances, operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, failure to produce insurance card, two Daviess County Traffic Bench Warrants for Failure to Appear, and eleven Daviess County Misdemeanor Bench Warrants for Failure to Appear.
