Madisonville woman charged for possessing meth, synthetic marijuana

A Madisonville woman arrested on an active warrant over the weekend is facing multiple drug charges.

Madisonville Police report officers located 36 year old Christina Sanchez-Portillo around 12:50 a.m. Saturday after receiving a tip she was inside her apartment at Pennyrile Park Apartments on South Kentucky Avenue. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the woman and during the course of the investigation police determined there was illegal drugs inside the apartment. Police reportedly found crystal meth in a dresser drawer. In the bedroom, officers said they found two methamphetamine spoons with residue, a hypodermic needle loaded with meth, a small bag of synthetic marijuana, and two glass pipes with illegal drug residue.

Sanchez-Portillo was taken into custody and lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center for first degree possession of controlled substance (meth), second degree disorderly conduct, possession of synthetic drugs and drug paraphernalia.
