After months of me working behind the scenes to develop from scratch our very first native iOS app, the day has finally come!!
WMSK has a new way for listeners to keep up with the station and Union County wherever they go.
The new WMSK mobile app is now live, bringing the station’s live broadcast, local news, on-demand programming and more together in one place.
At the center of the app is the WMSK live stream. Listeners can tune in to 101.3 FM directly from their phone, with the app displaying information about what’s currently playing. The stream can continue playing in the background or while the phone is locked, making it easy to take WMSK along in the car, at work or anywhere with an internet connection.
The app also gives listeners direct access to WMSK’s local news coverage. Stories from WMSK’s newsroom can be read inside the app, giving listeners another way to keep up with news and information from Union County and the surrounding area.
WMSK’s on-demand section allows listeners to catch programming they may have missed or go back and listen again on their own schedule.
Push notifications are also built into the new app. WMSK can send breaking news, weather information, school announcements, sports updates and other important local information directly to listeners’ phones.
The app’s home screen will also give WMSK the ability to feature changing content throughout the year, including local events, special programming, sports coverage and other station features.
The new app is designed to bring more of what WMSK does each day into one place while keeping the station’s live broadcast just a tap away.
Additional features and improvements are planned as WMSK continues developing the app.
The WMSK app is available now for iPhone through Apple’s App Store. Link below!
