Motorcyclist Injured in Wreck Charged With DUI

A man injured in a motorcycle wreck on Interstate 69 has been charged with DUI.

Kentucky State Police Post 2 Madisonville responded to the motorcycle crash around 3:30 p.m. Saturday on I-69 about two miles south of Madisonville.

According to police, 67 year old William Harvey Jett of Madisonville was driving northbound when he lost control of his Harley Davidson motorcycle and entered the median. The motorcycle then traveled down the median and came to final rest on its side. After further investigation, police determined that Jett had been drinking prior to the wreck.

Police say Jett, who was wearing a helmet, was transported by ambulance to the emergency room at Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Jett was then lodged at the Hopkins County Detention Center for No Registration Plate, No Registration Receipt, No Motorcycle Operators License, and Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs 1st Offense
