Morganfield City Council Approves Trick or Treat Hours, Hears Update on Water Plant Projects and Raw Water Line

During Thursday night’s meeting, Morganfield City Council heard an update regarding the water plant projects and raw water line, and set start and stop times for Trick or Treat within the city.

Mark Askin with Strand Engineering and Associates presented an update to councilmen regarding the 24-inch waterline, which included good and bad news.

City Administrator Gary Vetter noted there were several more items they were going to have to get updated, including two contracts with the City of Uniontown. Strand added that right now they still need an easement from one property owner.

During the update regarding the Job Corps raw waterline project, Strand said they are finishing their study and should be able to give council a recommendation by the end of next month.

Following the updates, councilmen set the Halloween Trick or Treat hours on October 31 for 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the City of Morganfield, which was unanimously approved.

After the 15 minute regular meeting, a motion was made to go into closed session to discuss personnel issues. No action was taken during the closed meeting.

The next regularly scheduled Morganfield City Council meeting will be at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Morganfield City Hall.
