The Advanced Wound Healing Center at Methodist Hospital in Henderson has received the Center of Distinction Award from Healogics, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services. The Center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including patient satisfaction higher than 92 percent, and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 91 percent within 30 median days to heal. There were 621 Centers eligible for the award and 423 achieved the honor. The Advanced Wound Healing was first recognized with the Center of Distinction Award in 2016.

“We are honored and thrilled to have achieved the Center of Distinction award for a second time,” said Ashley O’Connor, Program Director at Methodist Hospital’s Advanced Wound Healing Center. “Our staff has exceeded high metrics while exemplifying exceptional care, teamwork and working hard to heal our patients as quickly as possible with the best possible patient outcomes. We are proud of the seven years of wound care services we have provided to the community.”

The Advanced Wound Healing Center is a member of the Healogics network of nearly 700 Wound Care Centers® and provides access to benchmarking data and proven experience treating approximately 2.5 million chronic wounds. The Center offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time. Leading edge treatments at the Center include negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies. The Center also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which works by surrounding the patient with 100 percent oxygen to help progress the healing of the wound.
