Kentucky State Police are investigating a two-vehicle, injury-collision that occurred on KY-365, north of Marion, around 10:10 a.m. Friday.
According to KSP, the preliminary investigation revealed that 33 year old Billy Winstead, of Marion, was driving northbound in a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer when he stated he fell asleep. Police say Winstead’s vehicle crossed over the centerline and crashed head on into a 1997 Ford Tri-axle dump truck being driven by 54 year old Robert Jennings, of Marion. The collision caused both vehicles to exit the roadway.
Authorities say Jennings was reportedly transported by the Crittenden County EMS to Livingston County Hospital where he was treated and released for his injuries.
Detective Matt Foster, the Kentucky State Highway Department, Mattoon Fire Department and Crittenden County EMS assisted at the scene.
