KYTC NEWS RELEASE

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to place a lane and load width restriction on a section of KY 70 in western MUHLENBERG County starting Friday, November 18, 2016.

KY 70 will be restricted to one lane with a maximum 12 ft. load width at Muhlenberg County mile point 6.7 to allow joint work on the P&L Railroad Overpass at the Sandy community. This is along KY 70 between KY 175 and KY 181 about a mile east of the KY 175 intersection.

Motorists can expect to encounter one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by an automated signal. Approriate caution is required where construction personnel will be working along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

The contractor plans to be on site completing joint work and other maintenance through about December 15th. The contractor will then return in the spring to complete painting of the overpass.

This is part of a group bridge maintenance and painting project that includes work at several locations in Ohio and Muhlenberg counties.
