KSP Investigating Fatal Collision on Kentucky Highway 70 West In Muhleneberg County

GRAHAM, Ky. (09/01/2023) – Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal crash on Kentucky 70 in Muhlenberg County.

At approximately 4:15pm p.m. Thursday, KSP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Kentucky Highway 70 West at approximately the 2-mile marker.

A preliminary investigation revealed that David S. Isbell, 79, of Greenville, was operating a 2016 Dodge Challenger westbound on Kentucky 70. Taylor D. Groves, 26, of Greenville, was driving a 2020 Toyota Camry eastbound on Kentucky 70.

For unknown reasons, the 2020 Toyota Camry crossed the centerline of the roadway and struck the 2016 Dodge Challenger head on.

Isbell was pronounced deceased on scene by the Muhlenberg County Coroner.

Groves was severely injured and flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center.

The investigation is ongoing by Trooper Patrick Penrod. KSP was assisted on scene by Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Office, Muhlenberg County EMS, Graham Fire Department, Wendell H. Ford Reginal Training Center Fire Department, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, and the Muhlenberg Coroner.
