Kenergy selects new director

Kenergy has announced the selection of a new Director to fill the board seat left vacant by the death of long-time Director Randy Powell, who passed away in September 2015 after serving District 4 for 40 years.

Susie Givens of Corydon, Powell’s daughter, has been named as the Director after she was chosen from two candidates who were interviewed by Kenergy’s Board of Directors before they made a final decision.
Givens is a native of Henderson County, and has worked 44 years in the drilling industry.

She is the CEO of Givens International Drilling Supplies, a company she founded in Little Dixie 21 years ago. Givens International provides drilling equipment to heavy construction operations in more than 60 counties, according to the Kenergy release.

In addition, Givens has been an active member of the National Ground Water Association Board for more than 10 years, and serves on its Department of Transportation Committee.

She has been a member of the Kentucky Underwater Association Board for 12 years. And in 2003, the U.S. Secretary of Commerce appointed Givens to serve on the Kentucky District Export Council Board, on which she still serves.

Givens is also a member of the Methodist Hospital Board of Directors.

She will take her seat on the board at the February 22, 2016 board meeting. Her term will expire in 2017.
