An Illinois woman was injured in a two-vehicle wreck in Henderson County over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend.
According to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene of the wreck at US-41 North near Ellis Park around 6:00 Friday night where authorities indicate Ashley Smith of Sims, Illinois tried to turn on US 41 North from Nugent Drive and pulled into the path of a car driven by Kyle Davis of Henderson. Smith reportedly was trapped in her vehicle and had to be extricated and was transported by Henderson County EMS to St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville.
The wreck caused both north and southbound lanes of US 41 North to be closed for about an hour while emergency personnel worked the scene and crews cleaned up debris.
