HPD: Henderson man charged for trafficking meth

A 44 year old Henderson man has been charged for trafficking drugs.

Henderson Police report an officer was on patrol around 9:15 Tuesday night when he witnessed Christopher Smith driving an ATV on Washington Street and then stop at a house. After being notified by dispatch that Smith had a suspended license, the officer arrested Smith for Operating on a Suspended or Revoked Operator’s License.

During a search of Smith, the officer reportedly found a glass pipe containing residue and a large amount of cash, along with a plastic baggie with a large amount of a clear crystal substance. While Smith was changing out of his coveralls at the jail, police indicate a marijuana cigarette fell out of his pocket.

Smith was booked into the Henderson County Detention Center for first degree trafficking in a controlled substance, greater or equal to two grams of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and operating an ATV on the roadway.
