Henderson Woman Injured in Vehicle vs Rapid Transit Bus Wreck

A Henderson woman was injured Monday when the vehicle she was riding in was hit by a Henderson Area Rapid Transit bus at the intersection of Shelby and Young Streets.

Authorities say the H.A.R.T. bus driven by 62 year old Jeffrey Kachanuk, of Evansville, was traveling westbound through the intersection in the 14-hundred block of Young Street when a vehicle traveling southbound on Shelby Street driven by 22 year old Clinton Blanford, of Henderson, failed to stop at the stop sign and the bus crashed into the driver’s side of his vehicle.

Henderson Police report a passenger in Blanford’s vehicle, 60 year old Magdalena Nevarez of Henderson, was transported to Methodist Hospital for treatment of possible injuries. Police indicate five passengers were on the H.A.R.T. bus at the time of the traffic accident, but none of them were injured.
