A woman arrested for shoplifting at a food store Monday night is also facing drug possession charges.
Henderson Police were dispatched to Sureway South located in the 11-hundred block of South Green Street where the night manager stated to officers 34 year old Amanda Gaines was observed by a customer hiding medication in her pockets. Once officers watched the surveillance video of the incident, police say Gaines confessed to putting the pills in her pockets.

Police indicate that Gaines stated she had let a friend borrow her pants and the drugs belonged to her friend.
Gaines was booked into the Henderson County Detention Center for Theft by Unlawful Taking – Shoplifting U/$500, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (Drug Unspecified), Illegal Possession of a Legend Drug and Possession of Marijuana.
