Henderson man arrested after single-vehicle wreck for drug possession charges

A single-vehicle wreck in Henderson led to the arrest of the driver for possessing controlled substances.

According to Henderson Police, officers responded to the wreck in the 16-hundred block of South Green Street around 9:15 a.m. Monday where witnesses stated the driver, identified as 35 year old Samuel Puckett of Henderson, was grabbing items from the vehicle as if trying to hide them in a black bag. After getting permission to search the bag, police say they found drug paraphernalia, numerous pills, a white powdery substance, and a container with small brown pieces inside. According to authorities, Puckett stated to officers that the brown and white substances were methamphetamine, but that the pills did not belong to him.

Puckett was taken into custody and booked into the Henderson County Detention Center for three charges related to possession of controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
