The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office has released the name of a jogger hit and killed by a vehicle this (Tuesday) morning.
Chief Deputy Coroner Steven W. Locklear identified the woman as 51 year old Janet S. Gries of Darmstadt. He says she was jogging on Boonville New Harmony Road when she was hit by a pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction. Gries died at the scene.
The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
