Free Baseline Concussion Testing Offered to Protect Student Athletes

EVANSVILLE, IN (August 7) – As young athletes prepare to hit the fields and courts, prioritizing their brain health is more important than ever. To ensure the safety of our local youth, the Ascension St. Vincent Sports Concussion Alliance, in partnership with Tri-State Orthopaedics and ProRehab, is hosting a free ImPACT baseline concussion testing event for athletes ages 10
and older.

Concussions are a serious reality of youth sports, and improper management can cause severe, long-term health consequences. Safely managing head injuries relies on reliable, individualized data before an injury occurs.

To provide this critical safeguard, local medical professionals use ImPACT (Immediate Post-concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing), a computer-based
evaluation, to establish an athlete’s pre-season baseline cognitive function.
