Draft Environmental Impact Statement to be Released for ORX

Will identify preferred route for new bridge

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) have identified a preferred route for an I-69 Ohio River Crossing (I-69 ORX). The Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) is expected to be released Friday, Dec. 14.

The DEIS will be posted on the project website (i69ohiorivercrossing.com) and will be placed at several locations on both sides of the river to facilitate review by the public and local, state and federal agencies.

Indiana and Kentucky are committed to improving the I-69 corridor by creating an I-69 Ohio River Crossing between Evansville and Henderson. The states reinitiated a study of the I-69 corridor, required under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The study is expected to be complete by fall 2019.
