A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans an increased level of activity along the KY 56 work zone west of Morganfield in UNION County THIS WEEK.
This work zone runs along KY 56 between KY 360 at mile point 7.812 extending eastward to KY 3393/The Morganfield Bypass at mile point 11.5, a distance of about 3.6 miles.
Over the next 2 or 3 days this work zone will have an accelerated activity level for cement reinforcement of the sub-surface along a portion of the work zone. The sub-surface cement treatment will then be allowed to set up for a couple of days.
Motorists should be prepared to encounter flaggers assisting movement of equipment in the work zone. Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow. Some delays are possible.
Hicon Construction, LLC, is the prime contractor on this $11.5 million highway improvement project. This project is approximately 50% complete.
