1st District Congressional Candidate Michael Pape stops in Union County to discuss coal, agriculture, etc.

Republican candidate for the 1st District Congressional seat, Michael Pape, was in Union County this week and stopped by the WMSK Newsroom to discuss the federal budget, coal, agriculture, Veterans and national security.

Pape, the former District Director for Congressman Ed Whitfield who is retiring at the end of his term, says he has been with Whitfield since he was elected as U.S. Representative of the 1st District.

There are several other reasons he is running for the seat. One, he feels there needs to be a balanced federal budget and he wants to strength our military.

In addition, he wants to make sure our national defense is strong again, and rebuild our military.

Pape also wants to take care of our military veterans.

And he wants to downsize our federal government and the EPA’s overreach.

He notes Congressman Whitfield has wholeheartedly endorsed him and is behind his candidacy all the way. Pape says he looks forward to the opportunity to represent the citizens of the 1st District, and asks for your vote.
