KSP Investigating Early Morning Fatal Wreck on Twin Bridges

South Bound Traffic Impacted for Nearly Four Hours

HENDERSON, Ky. (May 6, 2019) –Kentucky State Police troopers are currently reconstructing a two vehicle wreck which claimed the life of one man. Troopers were notified around 5:30 a.m. by Henderson County authorities requesting our agency to investigate the wreck.  

Preliminary investigation reveals around 4:20am Joseph E. Revlett, 36 of Owensboro was traveling south on US 41 when his 1999 Honda Accord stalled in the right lane of the southbound twin bridge. Revlett began pushing his car from the rear while passenger Casey M. Thurman, 25 of Owensboro pushed from the drivers door to help steer the stalled car. Arthur Kampf, 46 of Mt. Vernon, Ind was also on US 41 traveling south on the southbound bridge in a 2015 Ford F-450 truck. Kampf was unable to see the stalled vehicle in time and ran into the rear killing Revlett. The collision threw Thurman away from the car and into the left lane of the southbound bridge.

Thurman was taken by ambulance to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville where she sustained injuries to her shoulder, arm and legs.

Kampf was utilizing his seatbelt and was not injured.

Kentucky State Police troopers were assisted by KSP’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division; Henderson County Coroner’s Office, Henderson County Sheriff’s Department, Henderson Police Department and Henderson City Fire Department.

The investigation is on-going.
