Work Zone Lane Restriction on WK Pkwy in HOPKINS County Starts MONDAY, Oct 12

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans a work zone lane restriction along a section of the Wendell Ford-Western Kentucky Parkway in eastern HOPKINS County starting Monday, October 12, 2015.

This work zone lane restriction is to allow base repairs this fall to be followed by asphalt paving along the Western Kentucky Parkway from mile point 38.3 at the Interchange with I-69 and the Pennyrile Parkway extending eastward to mile point 42.8 near the Hopkins-Muhlenberg County Line, a distance of about 4.5 miles.

Motorists should use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

The contractor expects the base repair portion of the work to take about a month to complete. The work zone will then come down for the winter months with work resuming in March of 2016 for addition of a new asphalt driving surface.

Road Builders, LLC, of Greenville, is the prime contractor on this $7.048,737 highway improvement project. The target completion date is June 1, 2016.
