NEWS RELEASE

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to restrict westbound traffic to one lane along a section of I-24 in LYON County on Tuesday, September 20, 2016.

Westbound traffic on I-24 will be restricted to one lane near the 33 mile marker to allow Kentucky State Police to conduct a crash resonstruction investigation.  The crash reconstrction is related to two crashes in this area in recent weeks.

Westbound motorists should be alert for slowing and merging traffic as they approach the 33 mile marker.   This is along I-24 near the Lyon County Weigh Station.

This work zone is expected to be in place from approximate 8:00 a.m., CDT, to about 3:00 p.m., on Tuesday.  There may be a number of lane configuration changes through the day to facilitate the investigation.

Motorists should use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and police personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
