Webster County man charged for assault, unlawful imprisonment, terroristic threatening

A Webster County man has been charged with assault, unlawful imprisonment and other offenses after he allegedly assaulted two subjects and threatened to kill cops before they could kill him.

Around Noon Monday, Providence Police reports to WMSK News that two subjects went to Dispatch to report they had been assaulted and hit numerous times by 32 year old Dustin Eddings of Providence. In addition, police say the subjects stated Eddings and Whitney Simms removed several firearms from a safe and loaded them into a vehicle, along with numerous other items from the residence.

According to police, it was also reported that Eddings stated he was going to kill as many cops as he could before they killed him. Kentucky State Police was contacted and asked to issue an alert to all law enforcement agencies that Eddings was armed and dangerous, and a vehicle description and license plate number was given out.

After Madisonville Police were alerted of a possible sighting, officers located Eddings and Simms in the Rural King parking lot where both subjects were taken into custody.

Eddings was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center for first degree assault (domestic violence), fourth degree assault (domestic violence), two counts of third degree terroristic threatening and two counts of unlawful imprisonment. Providence Police indicate other charges are pending.
