Webster Co. man charged for forgery, carrying concealed deadly weapon

A Webster County man is facing forgery and violating and emergency protection order after police say they got a call of him pointing a gun at another subject.

Henderson Police report 40 year old Jose Saravia of Sebree was stopped on US41N around 4:17 a.m. Sunday after they received a call from the Evansville Police Department that a subject in a grey Toyota Tacoma pickup truck had pointed a gun at another subject. Police say the driver gave permission for officers to search his truck, and police found a black handgun under the passenger seat where Saravia was sitting. Authorities indicate the 40 year old man then presented a fraudulent KY ID card. Police also discovered that Saravia had an active protection order which prohibits him from possessing a gun.

Saravia was lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center for second degree forgery, violation of Kentucky EPO/DVO, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. Once booked into the jail, a translator was brought in and police say Saravia stated the gun was not his and the real criminal was let go, but he could not tell police who the gun belonged to.
