BLOOMFIELD, Ind. (AP) — Authorities say three family members returning home from the Bands of America Grand National Championship in Indianapolis have died in a crash.

Indiana State Police say 17-year-old Sophie Rinehart, 46-year-old David Rinehart and 74-year-old Ruth Rinehart of Newburgh died in the crash early Sunday on Interstate 69 in Greene County. Police say 18-year-old Josie Rinehart was injured in the crash.

The Evansville Courier & Press reports Sophie Rinehart performed Saturday with the Castle High School marching band and died along with her father and his mother.

Police say a car driven by David Rinehart struck a deer and pulled to the shoulder. Police say a pickup hit the stopped car. The 19-year-old driver of the pickup had a broken arm. State police say the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
