According to authorities, on scene investigation and witness statements indicated that a black 2010 Ford Fusion 4-door driven by 19 year old Bailey R. The force of the collision caused the 4Runner to roll over several times before striking a black 2015 Jeep Cherokee SUV driven by 40 year old John J. Bringman Jr. of Evansville.
The sheriff’s office reports the driver of the 4Runner, 73 year old Robert E. Turner died at the scene of the crash. Three passengers from the 4Runner and the driver of the Fusion were transported by ambulance to the hospital.
Pursuant to state law regarding crashes involving serious bodily injury or death, the drivers of the Fusion and Cherokee both consented to a post-accident blood draw. The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office will perform toxicology testing on the deceased. The investigation will remain open pending a full crash reconstruction and toxicology results.
