Union County Military Veteran’s will be Honored Friday, Veteran’s Day

Friday is Veteran’s Day, an official United States public holiday, observed annually on November 11, to honor our military veterans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

American Legion Post #48 Commander George Blakeley tells WMSK News local Veterans will be honored Friday at the local schools, as well as a ceremony at the Union County Courthouse.

Following the Veteran’s Day ceremony at the courthouse, the veterans will visit two other local schools.

He also explains how the local schools honor the Veterans.

Mr. Blakeley says this day is set aside to honor their departed comrades, and also honors all Veterans who have served in the past, present and future, an honorary day to show our support for our troops.

The public is invited to the Veteran’s Day ceremony at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Union County Courthouse.
