Union County man charged for possessing drugs and assault

An assault in progress call landed a Union County man behind bars facing drug possession and other offenses.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office tells WMSK News that deputies were called to a home on Lymon Road in Dekoven around 11:00 Tuesday morning for an assault in progress. When deputies arrived, officials say the victim had already left the residence but authorities located methamphetamine, a syringe and other drug paraphernalia in the home.

According to the sheriff’s office, 46 year old James Willett of Sturgis was taken into custody and lodged in the Union County Detention Center for Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) 1st Offense 1st Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Assault 4th Degree.
