A fatal wreck this morning claimed the life of a Union County resident.
Union County Sheriff’s Detective Kyle Dame reports he and emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene of a single vehicle wreck on KY 360 near John Hite Road around 7:30 a.m. Monday. He says a Union County resident, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was fatally ejected from a vehicle after it dropped off the roadway and the driver over-corrected, causing the vehicle to rollover multiple times and come to rest in a field.
The Union County Coroner’s Office, Union County Ambulance Service, Union County Rescue Squad, Morganfield Rescue Squad and Kentucky State Police assisted the sheriff’s office at the scene.
At this time, Detective Dame says the name of the individual killed in the wreck is being withheld pending notification of all family members.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office is reminding motorists to buckle up and wear your seatbelts.
