The Union County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a domestic-related shooting.
Details are sketchy at this hour, but Deputy Kyle Dame told WMSK News last night that deputies responded to a domestic dispute on KY 56 West around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016. During the dispute, he says a Morganfield resident suffered a gunshot wound. The victim was airlifted to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. WMSK News has confirmed the victim was a young woman.
Due to the ongoing investigation, Deputy Dame says no other details are being released at this time.
The Union County Ambulance Service, Morganfield Fire and Rescue, and Whispering Meadows Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
